Monuments de la Viguerie, Salles-Courbatiers (Aveyron)

[1:25.000 Sheet/Feuille 2238 E]

1. Tombeau Mégalithique

This tomb is on the left side of the track and not on the right as marked on the map.
It has been badly disturbed, but some of the stones are beautiful.
It seems as if one roofstone, at least, has been incorporated into a nearby shelter.

2. Abri/Shelter

About 50 metres S is a shelter whose sloping roof is probably composed of roofstones from the dolmen.

About 80 metres further along the lane and adjoining the wall on the left is a corbelled, circular hut. >

About 800 metres SE of the tomb, and built into a slope to the N of the road to the hamlet of La Viguerie
is a huge cairn. >

Just over 9 km NW on other side of the river Lot is the remarkable pierced dolmen at Faycelles >
